Debbie Wasserman Schultz: 'Scott Walker Has Given Women the Back of His Hand'
Democratic National Committee chair Debbie Wasserman Schultz came unhinged while speaking at a women's event in Wisconsin about Governor Scott Walker.
"Scott Walker has given women the back of his hand. I know that is stark. I know that is direct. But that is reality,” she said. "What Republican tea party extremists like Scott Walker are doing is they are grabbing us by the hair and pulling us back. It is not going to happen on our watch."
Wasserman Schultz made the comments about Walker as he faces a close reelection campaign against his Democratic opponent Mary Burke.
But even Burke’s campaign suggested that Wasserman Schultz went too far.
"That's not the type of language that Mary Burke would use, or has used, to point out the clear differences in this contest," Burke's press secretary Stephanie Wilson said in a statement to the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel. "There is plenty that she and Governor Walker disagree on — but those disagreements can and should be pointed out respectfully."
