Final 'Atlas Shrugged' Film Set for Summer 2014 Release
Ayn Rand's 1957 novel Atlas Shrugged took decades to reach the big screen, and now the third film in the Shrugged trilogy has been officially greenlit for a Summer 2014 release.
The first two installments didn't catch fire at the box office, but The Hollywood Reporter says they've fared better on home video and streaming services.
Apparently that was enough to ensure a third and final chapter to the film series, to be co-written by former Rand collaborator Duncan Scott.
Atlas Shrugged warns of an America where government largess has squashed economic liberty. The second film in the series featured a brief glimpse of John Galt (D.B. Sweeney), the mysterious figure who may be connected to the disappearance of many entrepreneurs.
