The media was quick to point out that Mitt Romney was booed at the NAACP convention yesterday (or were they saying “Boo-urns?”), but will they point out that no one was there to hear Joe Biden’s address? CBS News and National Journal campaign reporter Rodney Hawkins tweeted that “minutes before” Joe Biden’s speech at the George R. Brown Convention Center in Houston “seats are pretty empty.” He provided the visual above.

What is art if not a window into the time and place in which it was created? In the wake of yet another disappointing jobs report, it’s clear that the Great Recession lives, and thus will play a significant role in our culture for years to come. Whenever there’s a lull in the hiring market, young people are hit the hardest. Of course, the uneducated are first to find themselves unemployed, but in the age of the trillion dollar tax hike, there just isn’t a whole lot of hiring going on at any level. With New Media, we are watching history play out before our eyes. Every day, online outlets are breaking stories the establishment media won’t. Some of these sites (largely thought of as blogs) now have more traffic than mainstream media websites. One such project is a YouTube series called “The Daly Show,” not to be confused with the left-wing news show anchored by Jon Stewart.

In a statement to Reuters, Steve Capus, President of NBC's news division, said that the decision to air the sliced-and-diced version of the the George Zimmerman phone call to the police just before he shot Trayvon Martin was "a mistake and not a deliberate act to misrepresent the phone call." Yeah. Right.

When news broke that Katie Couric will be filling in for Robin Roberts next week on ABC's "Good Morning America," the country yawned. Or, at least we did, until we learned that NBC plans to pit "The Rogue Warrior" against "The Perky One": Sarah Palin will be guest-hosting "Today" this Tuesday.

Simply put, newspapers have become obsolete in the Internet Age. Why would anyone rely on a once-daily paper when they can get information in real time online? That, combined with dead-tree media's near-universal liberal bias, and it's no wonder newspapers are going the way of the dodo.
