Foreign Policy Highlights of the GOP Debate

While Americans have been bombarded with Republican debates, most would argue that they haven’t been bombarded with, well, substance. Lackluster questions, vocal crowds, and candidates allowing moderators to set the premise of discussions have made the debates devolve into bickering and one-liners. The question of national security is at the forefront of Americans’ minds because of increased tensions with Iran, high gas prices, and the growing scandal of “Fast & Furious.” 24 Feb 2012

MSNBC's O'Donnell: OB/GYN Dr. Ron Paul 'Anti-Sex'

Lawrence O'Donnell said that Ron Paul is a "fake" libertarian on "The Last Word". O'Donnell explained that because of Ron Paul's explanation during the Republican Presidential debate that it was the "immorality of society" that causes the need for contraception, rather than the other way around, Paul lost his credibility and libertarian appeal.

"They don’t seem to notice that 'fake libertarian' Ron Paul takes the most anti-libertarian positions on women’s reproductive rights. The 'fake libertarian' does not dare say a word that violates the Republican party line on abortion."

Specter: Santorum Lied

During the CNN GOP Presidential debate last night Senator Rick Santorum explained his support for Arlen Specter by claiming that he had made a "deal" with his colleague to support President Bush's judicial nominees.

Specter today said that he "made no promise" to support anyone and that the conversation never happened.

CNN Setup: 'Women On Twitter' Hate Republicans

Giving post-debate analysis for CNN Senior Political Analyst David Gergen said that the contraception conversation did not help the GOP candidates and that "a lot of women on twitter" were criticizing the positions of the men on stage. Gergen claimed that women on twitter thought that the male GOP candidates "don't understand the women's rights movement". 22 Feb 2012
