A campaign supposedly to celebrate Mother’s Day claims that nations and cultures should have no boundaries, and that America’s view of motherhood is “outdated.”
Far-left political advocacy organization Strong Families – which sponsors the Mamas Day campaign – says the traditional American family of a mother, father, and children no longer exists.

“[T]oo many of the policies that affect us are based on this fantasy,” the organization states. “We see the trend of families defining themselves beyond the picket fence—across generation, race, gender, immigration status, and sexuality—as a powerful and promising development for the U.S., and we want to help policy makers catch up.”

The organization has commissioned artists to create art that “reflects the various ways our mamas and families look. The result is a collection of beautiful and unique cards that better reflect the families we know and love.”

Strong Families says it is “working to change the way we think, feel, and act in support of families. Our vision is that every family has the rights, recognition and resources it needs to thrive. We are engaging hundreds of organizations and thousands of individuals in our policy work to get there.”

The partners include Access Women’s Health Justice, the ACLU of both Northern and Southern California, Affirmations LGBT Community Center, California Latinas for Reproductive Justice, Center for Reproductive Rights, Colorado Springs Queer Collective, National Center for Lesbian Rights, National LGBTQ Task Force, National Network of Abortion Funds, and the Transgender Law Center.
