Judd Apatow: Trump ‘Too Much of a Coward’ to Buck the NRA

Within hours of the attack on Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School, writer-director Judd Apatow accused President Donald Trump of being “too much of a coward” to buck the NRA.

The clear implication was that the NRA is culpable for school shootings and Trump shared the culpability by refusing to cut ties with them.

Apatow tweeted, “You are a dangerous idiot who is too much of a coward to reject the NRA. All of this blood is on your hands. You set the agenda.”

The attempt to blame the NRA and NRA-supported politicians was echoed by other celebrities as well.

For example, Mia Farrow tweeted:

And Cheslea Handler called for voters to turn against candidates supported by the NRA:

We have to elect candidates that are not funded by the NRA in November. We have an opportunity to elect candidates who won’t allow kids to go to school and get shot. It is disgusting how many times this has happened and Republicans do nothing. You all have blood on your hands.

But other celebrities took a different approach by leaving off any mention of political office holders and going straight at the NRA.

Patricia Arquette tweeted:

If people can blame drug dealers for the drug problem then we can blame the @NRA for the mass shooting problem.

Actress Alyssa Milano tweeted to members of the NRA:

While celebrities and other gun controllers have taken to social media en masse to call for more gun laws now, not one person has suggested a law that would have prevented the attack on Marjory Stoneman Douglas High from occurring.
