Several of California’s Democratic congressional delegates are upset about ongoing immigration raids as part of a crack-down on criminal illegal aliens in the United States.

Last week, 161 illegal aliens were arrested in throughout Southern California by Federal immigration authorities. Some raids are reportedly ongoing.

“My constituents are freaked out,” Rep. Judy Chu (D-CA) said, according to the Los Angeles Times. “We have serious questions, we want to know what is going on, and we want answers.”

The federal immigration raids took place over the course of several days and resulted in the arrests of 680 illegal aliens across multiple states.

Some of the officials reportedly expressed that they do not know why the raids and arrests were carried out and complained that federal authorities have not yet released the names of those apprehended.

The Times notes that Rep. Chu, Rep. Nanette Barragán (D-CA), and other Democratic lawmakers said they received inconsistent answers from ICE officials in Los Angeles about who was swept up in the raids and why.

For example, the Times notes that Barragán said Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) officials told her there were no instructions provided by the Department of Homeland Security about how to enforce President Donald Trump’s executive order. Meanwhile, the Times notes that other members said ICE told them they did receive instructions.

Breitbart News previously reported that a February 13 statement from the Department of Homeland Security indicated 75 percent of the 680 illegal immigrants swept up for repatriation last week had committed crimes inside the United States. According to the Times, ICE said only 10 of the 161 illegal aliens arrested did not have a prior criminal conviction.

Meanwhile, a meeting scheduled between Members of the Congressional Hispanic Caucus and ICE officials Tuesday afternoon to discuss the raids was abruptly canceled.
