Milo on CNBC: A World Run by the Alt-Right Would Be So Much Fun

Breitbart’s Milo Yiannopoulos appeared on CNBC Thursday and discussed the alt-right and Hillary Clinton’s attacks on the movement.

Discussing Hillary Clinton’s speech on the alt-right where she said, “The de facto merger between Breitbart and the Trump campaign represents a landmark achievement for the Alt-Right,” Milo explained what exactly the alt-right is and why Hillary is wrong.

“I’ve never identified as the alt-right, the press seems determined to crown me the queen of it. All I’ve done is give them a fair hearing in the press,” he explained. “I think that white identity and white nationalism is a little misleading, I think it’s more accurate to say that the alt-right cares about Western supremacy rather than white supremacy. It cares about western values, it cares about liberal, capitalist, Western democracy, democratic values, freedom, equality, that kind of thing, and it sees various threats to those from various fronts.”

“As a gay man I’m quite reassured by Donald Trump’s entreaties towards American values and his skepticism about Islamic immigration,” he said.

Host Michelle Caruso-Cabrera asked Milo to clarify what he meant by American values, to which Milo replied, “The first and second amendment, freedom of speech, free expression, the right to be, do and say whatever you want. These are the values that have made America the greatest country in the history of human civilization. These are values that are not compatible with some of the Islamic immigration that we see in Europe and I guess I’m over here as a warning from Europe saying please don’t go the same way as Germany and the UK.”

“The press seems determined to label the alt-right this misogynist, hateful, racist, homophobic, anti-semitic movemen,t and yet at the same time tries to crown a gay jew who never shuts up about his black boyfriend as the leader of it – something isn’t quite right here,” he said.

“I wrote a very good guide to the alt-right and it’s the only example in journalism really so far of somebody trying to give an accurate and fair guide to the contours of the movement rather than virtue signalling, saying, ‘Oh racism is bad.’ Yes, we know that, I want to know what this movement actually consists of and so I wrote ‘An Establishment Conservatives Guide To The Alt-Right,’ what it is that you’re getting wrong that the Trump guys, the alt-right, the Twitter meme and troll brigade, what it is that they’re seeking, what they’re searching for and what they like and don’t like.”

“It would be so much more fun! It’d be full of mischief and laughter and memes, Pepe in the White House, it would be fantastic!” Milo replied when asked what a world run by the alt-right would look like. “It might be a little meaner but we could do with a bit of meanness in American society. This cult of being nice all the time and not saying what we really think, not saying what’s actually happening, I mean the reason that people like me get upset about political correctness is that it kills.”

“It results in horrible things happening, San Bernardino or Sandy Hook, and people say, ‘Oh we knew but we didn’t go there we didn’t want to say anything because we’ll seem racist.’ You know Rotherham in the UK, fourteen hundred young girls were raped over ten years, and the government reports said that the reason nobody reported on this, the reason nobody did anything about it, is that the police and the authorities were scared of seeming ‘Islamophobic’ because those fourteen hundred girls were all raped by Pakistani rape gangs. That is an example of political correctness with victims.”
