Trabzonspor’s Turkey midfielder Halil Altintop has signed a two year contract with Augsburg, the Bundesliga side announced on Monday.
The move represents a return to the German topflight for the 30-year-old twin brother of Galatasaray’s Hamit as he has already had spells with Kaiserslautern, Schalke and Eintracht Frankfurt.
The German-born Altintop had agreed to leave Trabzonspor on Saturday as the club are experiencing financial difficulties and have failed to pay him for the past three months.
He joined the Turkish outfit in 2011 from Frankfurt.
