New FX Host Comfortable Calling Tea Party Racist

At least late night’s latest talk show host arrives on the scene without pretending he’ll hit both political sides equally.

Totally Biased with W. Kamau Bell,” debuting at 11 p.m. EST tonight of FX, should feel right at home with shows featuring David Letterman, Jimmy Fallon, Jimmy Kimmel, Jon Stewart and Stephen Colbert. The aforementioned comics spend far more energy attacking the GOP – and ignoring Democrats – then past late night icons like Johnny Carson.

The liberal Bell will be no different, apparently. And that’s simply the sorry state of modern political comedy where the Left/Right ratio is staggering in the former’s favor.

Bell’s willingness to label a large group of concerned Americans as racist sans proof, however, isn’t a laughing matter.

Watch him tell his stand-up audience why he has no problem calling the Tea Party racist – ignoring the group’s unabashed enthusiasm for black congressman Allen West. That fact doesn’t fit the comedian-approved narrative.

“I don’t need the Tea Party to be 100 percent racist for me to feel perfectly fine calling them racist,” he says. “It could be way less than 100 percent. Ten percent is fine with me.”

He defends his stance by saying if you had a milkshake made of “10 percent shit” you wouldn’t drink it.

“Ten percent’s kind of a lot!”
