I'll defend Shawty Lo

To make a long story short, the Oxygen Network has a new one hour special in the works, “All My Babies Mamas.”   Seriously, I can’t make this stuff up.

It follows Atlanta’s “Laffy Taffy” rapper Shawty Lo and his 11 children by 10 different babies mamas.  Now, the “free love” Progressives have their panties in a bunch arguing  Shawty Lo and his untraditional family are a misrepresentation of African-American parents and children.

Just to throw this out there, I have 5 brothers and 2 sisters and none of us share the same set of parents.  So for the sake of this argument, I will defend Shawty Lo.

Growing up, I learned quickly that some of the best fathers in the ghetto are drug dealers.  Most are actually pushed towards the corners because they want to be good fathers.  They want to pay for a roof over their head, food in their stomachs, and meet all their offspring’s needs, whether they are with the baby’s mother or not.

This is not an endorsement of this life style; it is simply a truth the Progressive left doesn’t want you to know. They run towards the street because they are running towards Capitalism.

They know the “education” provided in public schools won’t lead to prosperity.  They know the free market, supply and demand of the street corner PRODUCES and that’s where you find them.

Now the left wants to pretend they don’t exist.  Black Leadership is pulling its strings to make sure “All My Babies Mamas” never hits the airwaves.  Shawty Lo is being vilified at the same exact time Hip Hop culture is celebrating Kim and Kanye moving in together to raise their child. Does anyone else see a reality show in progress?

It’s not hypocrisy, its irony.  When will Black Americans see they don’t meet the left’s definition of African Americans?  To some extent, a lot of Black Americans have had a Shawty Lo type childhood where we weren’t raised in a two parent household with both our natural mother and father and all our sisters and brothers.

But don’t you dare let that dirty little secret be shown to the world.  If the Oxygen Network wants to expose the underbelly of Progressive polices and their effects, especially in the black community, we will boycott.

In an interview with MTV, Shawty Lo gives some insight none on the Left dare to touch…

“You can hate all you want to, I didn’t ask for it.  It just happened.  Now that it happened, am I supposed to turn my back on it?”

Yes, Shawty.  You are supposed to be a dead beat dad, so all your babies mamas would be on the system. You are supposed to populate the welfare rolls by just walking away. It’s the Progressive thing to do.

Shawty Lo said of his babies Mamas,

“They wouldn’t have an abortion.  They used to take the money and run with it, and they’d have a baby by the most popular guy in the street, and that’s how I had all them kids.”

Yup, Shawty.  The Feminist movement teaches women they don’t need you outside of impregnation.  They can grab your seed, claim their place as one of your babies mamas, and just let their welfare checks roll in.  And if you think he makes too much money for them to receive welfare, I willing to take a bet on how many birth certificates bear his name.

And bonus round…

“She has two kids by me, and she feel like I’m supposed to do more for her kids, and she don’t wanna work.  She just want me to straight take care of them, but its love.  I handle it.”

Shut up, Shawty.  You’re not supposed to tell the world there is a woman out there that doesn’t want to work.  She just wants someone else to take care of her.  That is a dirty little secret that will cause you extreme punishment from the left.

Seriously, if we want to change Black America for the better, we can’t be afraid to expose the truth about what really happens in a lot of black families in America.  While there are a lot of great black men who take care of their families, there are a equal amount that turn their backs and just walk away.

So while I pointed out a lot of negativity in this article, let me leave you with the main reason I’m willing to defend Shawty Lo….

“Comin up, we didn’t have Thanksgiving, we didn’t have Christmas, but if I had my father there, if I even had my mother there, I probably wouldn’t have been that person I was in the street.”

That sounds like a Conservative call to save the black family to me.  Maybe that’s why the Left’s so afraid.
