Reuters Paints Graham's Remarks To Suggest GOP Playing Politics With Benghazi

While generally not a big fan of South Carolina Senator Lindsey Graham, if one comes across this current Reuters’ version of his most recent “Face the Nation” appearance, you might get the idea that Graham is accusing the GOP of playing politics by hammering the Obama administration over Benghazi.

Unfortunately, it appears to be little more than Reuters playing it’s own brand of liberal politics.

Republicans risk getting ‘burned’ on Benghazi issue: Senator

Although the issue may resonate with some voters, pushing it too hard is politically risky for Republicans, said Republican Senator Lindsey Graham of South Carolina, who is running for re-election this year.

The issue is back making major news due to newly released emails. As for Graham, he was actually pointing out that the GOP is not playing politics by pursuing the issue. For some reason, Reuters didn’t feel teh need to include the complete contexts of Graham’s remarks. Playing politics, no doubt.

Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-S.C.) on Sunday pushed back against accusations that Republicans were once again discussing the Benghazi embassy attacks for no other reason than to make them an election-year issue. In an appearance on CBS’ Face the Nation, Graham claimed the administration misled the public two years ago because it believed Benghazi was a “threat” to the president’s re-election hopes. And he insisted there were still unresolved questions the GOP felt compelled to probe following the release last week of more White House emails that mention the attack.
