Franken to Lead Grilling of Apple, Google Over Tracking

Apple Inc. and Google Inc. will be confronted by U.S. Senator Al Franken and other lawmakers tomorrow over the handling of user-location data in a hearing that may accelerate efforts to enact privacy rules for smartphones and tablet computers. Executives will testify at a Senate Judiciary subcommittee hearing in Washington led by Franken, a Minnesota Democrat.
