NYT Reporter: Bill Clinton Lied About Meeting with Kazakh Officials

In footage that aired during a Thursday preview of Fox News Channel’s upcoming special “Fox News Reporting: The Tangled Clinton Web” set to air Friday night, New York Times Pulitizer-winning reporter Jo Becker claimed former President Bill Clinton initally denied attending a meeting with Kazakh officials when asked for a story she was working on in 2007.

“When I first contacted both the Clinton foundation — Mr. Clinton’s spokesman — and Mr. Giustra, they denied any such meeting ever took place,” Becker said.

However, the Clinton camp recanted the claim when Becker referred to a picture of the meeting.

“And then when we told them, ‘Well we already talked to the head of Kazatomprom, who not only told us all about the meeting, but actually has a picture of him and Bill at the home in Chappaqua, and that he proudly displayed on his office wall,'” Becker added. “They then acknowledged that yes, the meeting had taken place.”

Becker was the co-author of a story with Mike McIntire that appeared in Thursday’s Times alleging the Clinton Foundation brought in money from Russia as Russian President Vladimir Putin was aiming to increasing his nation’s stake in the global uranium market.
