Per a report by NBC4i, Nicole O’Kelly of Tampa, FL found a symbol for pedophiles on a stuffed toy truck she bought for her daughter at a recent Monster Jam.
When she noticed the weird symbol, she did some research only to uncover that the symbol was code for pedophiles.
“I’m absolutely sick. I bought this for my 2-year-old little girl. This toy was made for little girls. I wanted answers,” O’Kelly said.
The symbol, which is one heart inside another, tells pedophiles that a child is ready to be traded for sex.
“This is pink,” O’Kelly added. “This is for little girls, especially at a predominately male event.”
Even scarier for O’Kelly is that the toy was designed locally, at Feld, Inc.
According to the report, Feld, Inc was “shocked” to find out they were producing toys with that symbol, and the company has since pulled the item from shelves.
Stephen Payne, a Feld, Inc. spokesperson, released this statement regarding the symbol:
“We’re shocked. We had no idea. We reacted immediately. We wanted to do the right thing as quickly as possible. Clearly we’re in the business with providing high quality family entertainment. This was really obscure. Until yesterday, I had no idea there was an underlying meaning of these symbols and the deplorable behavior. We just don’t know if a crime was committed here. We have not been contacted by LEOs. We just want to make sure it doesn’t happen again.”
