In a sit-down interview with MSNBC’s Willie Geist, former late-night television host David Letterman discussed his disdain for President Donald Trump.
Geist asked the bearded Letterman if he misses hosting his late night show with Trump leading the country, to which Letterman praised the current hosts for “doing a really good job” of covering the presidency.
Letterman went on slam Trump, saying he does not feel represented by the president as an American.
“First of all, the people who are in charge now do a really good job of it. And, as I’ve said before, it’s like painting the Golden Gate Bridge. As soon as you’re done, you’ve got to start all over. It would be the same night after night after night after night,” Letterman stated. “As an American, I don’t like this man as the president of our country. I love being an American, but I don’t feel he represents me and I don’t like that. I mean, even with other presidents that I’ve disagreed with politically, I felt like, ‘OK, I can live with their representation.’
He also called for people to quit “wringing their hands” about everything he does and just vote him out.
Letterman continued, “I’m sick and tired of everybody wringing their hands about this. ‘Oh my God, did you hear what he did?’ OK, let’s just settle this at the next election. Let’s stop yacking about what a goon he is.”
