PETA Demands Nickelodeon Force Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Eat ‘Dairy-Free Pizza’

People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA) is demanding the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles (TMNT) go pure vegan by eating only dairy-free pizza, reports the Telegraph.

With the news that the Turtles are returning to television via Nickelodeon, the group sent the network’s president a letter saying, “Modern kids are embracing vegan food, so why shouldn’t modern Ninja Turtles?”

“Vegan pizza is popular, and it’s healthier and far kinder to animals than old-fashioned dairy cheese pizza. PETA thinks that’s something the ‘heroes in a half shell’ would support.”

PETA said they “believe that the turtles would be willing to help save other animals’ lives.”

“Compassionate eating is the direction that TMNT fans, their siblings, and their parents are taking.”

This is yet another example of the left’s manic compulsion to politicize absolutely everything, to wring the fun out of all things in favor of dogmatic programming.

On top of that, PETA’s request is not even an honest one.

Using non-dairy products will not save the life of a single animal, nor is it compassionate.

Dairy is by definition milk. Milk comes from dairy cows. Dairy cows are not slaughtered for their milk. Rather, they are fed and cared for. And the better care you take of your cows, the more milk they produce. Stressed dairy cows do not produce anywhere near as much milk as happy dairy cows.

In fact, one way to kill a dairy cow is to not milk it. An infection can easily occur. Those that don’t die of an infection will dry up, and will then be sent to the slaughterhouse.

If you are even a few hours late milking your cows, the discomfort and pain can become torturous for the animal. If you have ever heard cows bellowing in a field, that is because Mr. Farmer is late to bring them in for a milking.

Dairy cows are only killed by humans once they stop producing milk, once they become a useless and costly burden. So, if everyone in the world listened to PETA and stopped using dairy products, the mass-slaughter of these otherwise useless animals would result in an ocean of blood.
