Beware ‘Foreign’ Looks: Canadian Travel Warning Issued For Unsettled Germany

Canada has issued new travel advice for its citizens heading to Germany. It notes the increased numbers of refugees entering the country and cautions against travel in areas that could be prone to violent demonstrations.

The notice was issued by the Government of Canada on September 28 and remains valid. It informs intending visitors to Germany of precautions to ensure a safe trip and carries this advice about the possible reception that lies ahead:

Extremist youth gangs are a threat, particularly in some smaller urban areas and in parts of former East Germany. Gang members have been known to harass or attack individuals because of their race or for looking “foreign”.

Arson attacks on parked vehicles have occurred.

The words of advice don’t end there. Further on under the heading ‘General safety measures’ Canadians have been given this warning:

There has been a significant increase in the number of migrants and refugees entering Europe. Some countries have already experienced disruptions to transportation services, including at ferry ports and railway stations, and have seen major delays at border crossings. The situation also heightens the potential for demonstrations that could turn violent without warning, particularly, at railway stations and other transportation hubs. If you are travelling in the region, monitor local news and follow the advice of local authorities, and contact your transport carrier to determine whether the situation could disrupt your travel.

As Breitbart London has reported, Germany is in the midst of its greatest inflow of migrants since the end of the Second World War – and all the attendant social problems that brings with it.

Immigration into Germany last year hit its highest level for 20 years, with nearly 1.5 million people entering the country against nearly one million people leaving. The number of people claiming asylum seeker benefits jumped by a staggering 61 per cent, the German Statistics Office (GSO) said earlier last month.

The leader of the German police union has warned of violent clashes between migrant groups being imported into his country and the risk that terror groups may be taking advantage of the migrant crisis to place terrorists in Europe, as reported today by Breitbart London.

German Chancellor Angela Merkel has previously acknowledged that the “breathtaking” flow of migrants into Germany will “occupy and change” the country in the coming years.

Now other countries like Canada are noticing that too.
