A man who spent much of last week volunteering at various shelters set up to help victims of the Grenfell Tower fire was beaten up by protesters who assumed he played a role in the tragedy.
Dressed in a suit visiting Kensington and Chelsea council offices, Robert Outram was apparently deemed a legitimate target by protesters who pushed the father of two to the ground and poured water on him.
Mr. Outram, a financial consultant whose firm is employed by the council, and a colleague were suddenly attacked as they entered the building after someone shouted, “It’s them two,” according to his wife.
She told The Telegraph: “He got a big bang on the head, he was thumped, he’s been left with a lump on the side of his head. He was really shaken up by it all.
“He had nothing to do with any of this. In fact, he’s been volunteering to help the victims.
“The council didn’t warn anyone about this protest. His picture is online with the wrong name attached to it,” she added.
It has been reported that activists could have mistaken the 56-year-old for Robert Black, the CEO of Kensington and Chelsea Tenant Management Organisation (KCTMO) responsible for managing the building.
Despite its peaceful beginnings, Friday’s demonstration quickly descended into unrest as grief-stricken locals, as well as left-wing activists, stormed Kensington Town Hall on Friday demanding “answers” and “justice” over the fire at Grenfell Tower, in which at least 58 people are believed to have died.
Breitbart London reported at the weekend how the far left, open borders campaign group ‘Movement for Justice’ (MFJ) announced a ‘Day of Rage’ to “shut down London” in response to the Grenfell Tower fire.
Advertising the event, at which the U.S.-backed activists invites supporters to march on Parliament during the Queen’s speech on Wednesday, MSF blamed “racism” for the tragedy, and declared that “there will be no peace until this government is brought down”.
