A Coachella man was arrested Sunday on carjacking charges after he allegedly attempted to steal a FedEx delivery truck–but failed because he did not know how to drive it.
Albert Luna, 19, was reportedly completely naked when he hopped into the FedEx vehicle around 7 p.m. Saturday as the driver was removing a package from the back of the truck in the 85-000 block of Araby Avenue in Coachella, according to the Desert Sun.
Luna allegedly demanded the truck’s keys from the driver, who complied before entering a nearby residence to call police. According to the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department, Lune fled the truck on foot when he could not figure out how to drive it away.
Before he was identified and arrested on Sunday, witnesses had described Luna as a Hispanic male between the ages of 18-20, with short hair, a thin build and not wearing any clothes, according to an early report from local CBS affiliate KESQ.
Luna was arrested Sunday and taken to the Riverside County jail in Indio, where he faces felony carjacking charges.
