Amnesty International Director Likens Israel to ISIS

Amnesty International UK campaigns director, Kristyan Benedict, Tweeted on Wednesday that Israel should be compared to the Islamic State, utilizing the hashtag #JSIL, which has been popularized by anti-Israel and anti-Semitic extremist groups.

Although Israel is a liberal democracy that guarantees equal rights for all its citizens, Benedict has in the past compared the Jewish state to apartheid South Africa and the Soviet Union.

He has also recently assessed that the failure for peace between Israel and the Palestinians is due to three things: Israel’s “profit-making industry,” “Zionist Christians” and natural resources.

“Amnesty International’s tweet comparing Israel to the Islamic State is anti-Semitism in its purest form,” Jennifer Dekel of the Endowment for Middle East Truth told Breitbart News. “It is revolting that an organization proclaiming to advocate for human rights instead incites hatred towards Jews and the State of Israel, not only via Twitter, but with its latest report demonizing Israel and supporting Hamas propaganda,” she added. “The tweet reveals Amnesty International’s true agenda and serves to strengthen Islamic terrorist groups and their sympathizers.”

Additionally, watchdog group NGO Monitor has documented several years of Amnesty International’s disproportionate fixation with the state of Israel.

In 2006, Amnesty International falsely accused Israel of committing “war crimes” and conducting “deliberate attacks on civilians” during its war with Lebanese terror group Hezbollah, NGO Monitor reported.

Amnesty has come to the same conclusion after assessing Israel’s conduct in its most recent 50-day war against Hamas over the summer. However, its 50-page report, which alleges that Israel purposely targeted civilians, relied mostly upon “eye-witness” accounts from Gaza Palestinians and Hamas officials.
