Animated ‘Ted’ clobbers Mark Wahlberg’s character

Sept. 30 (UPI) — Peacock released the teaser for the animated Ted series on Wednesday. The show premieres Dec. 17 on Peacock.

Mark Wahlberg returns to voice John, his character from the two live-action movies. Creator Seth Macfarlane voices Ted.

John attempts a backflip since he’s animated but lands on his face. Furthermore, an anvil drops on his head, alluding to classic Looney Tunes shorts.

Peacock also has a live-action Ted series set before the events of the movies. Max Burkholder plays young John growing up with his raunchy teddy bear.

Amanda Seyfried and Jessica Barth also return as their movie characters, now married to John and Ted respectively. Kyle Mooney and Liz Richman round out the voice cast.

Twelve years have passed since Ted 2. Now Ted and John are neighbors raising their kids next door to each other.

MacFarlane also created the animated show Family Guy and co-created American Dad.
