Former President George W. Bush sang the praises of his daughter Barbara Bush for getting him back to Washington, D.C. Wednesday at a U.S.-Africa Summit forum for first spouses.
“I also want to give a shout out to our dear daughter Barbara. Not many things that convince me to come back to Washington. The First Lady’s Summit of course is one; the other is to be able to dine with our dear daughter who is a fabulous young woman making a big difference on global health around the world,” Bush said.
“I love you, baby,” he added to former first daughter Barbara Bush, the CEO and co-founder of Global Health Corps.
Bush went on to speak about the fight against AIDS and the importance of women and girls, particularly, confronting diseases harming women in Africa.
“Taking care of women is good politics,” Bush said.
“It takes a lot to get me to leave Dallas. This conference surely is one reason why I came,” Bush concluded his remarks, going on to thank the White House and Bush Institute for hosting.
