Democrat president hopeful Hillary Clinton has made it crystal clear that she is coming after guns if elected, and now she wants her supporters to know she will be coming after gun stores as well, if given the chance.

On HillaryClinton.com, Clinton stresses that “it’s time to act on gun violence” and suggests that part of the solution is to up the number of inspections done on gun stores and to let gun store owners know their licenses can be revoked if the inspector discovers non-compliance. She claims the majority of gun stores in America have not been inspected enough and claims the NRA and GOP have prevented those inspections by tying the hands of the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives.

As president, Clinton said she “will provide funding to increase inspections and aggressively enforce current law by revoking the licenses of dealers that knowingly supply straw purchasers and traffickers.”

Although she suggested that some criminals are getting their guns from gun stores—and that it contributes to violence in the black community—she did not explain how any of this might be happening. She simply said more must be done “to crack down on gun stores that flood our communities with illegal guns.”

It is interesting to note a recent study conducted by the University of Chicago Crime Lab showed that criminals are not, in fact, getting their guns from gun stores or gun shows or Internet sales. Rather, they acquire them in numerous undetectable ways through “personal connections” on the street. But Clinton says otherwise.

When placed side-by-side with her numerous gun control proposals, Clinton’s plan to target gun stores means she would be entering office intending to expand the types of sales covered by background checks, open up gun makers to lawsuits from crime victims, add more regulations to gun shows, add more regulations to online sales, broaden the definition of domestic violence to bar a whole new demographic from gun possession, add more laws against gun trafficking, and target guns stores with more regulations, requirements, and the threat of federal firearms license forfeiture.

And she has made clear her intentions to do these things with or without Congressional support.
