Buffalo Bills defensive tackle Adolphus Washington was arrested in Cincinnati, Ohio, Sunday after he allegedly “reached for and displayed a gun” near police officers.

WKBW reports that Washington was sitting in his car at the time, and officers were nearby “clearing out a local water park.”

Police officers report:

While officer Armstrong and officer Morgan were clearing out a crowd on the lot of Splash Waterpark, suspect reached for and displayed a gun while sitting inside his vehicle, just feet away from officers. The suspect did not inform officers beforehand. Suspect was arrested, process at the PD and released.

Sharonville Police Lt. Keith Schoonover told NFL.com that “Washington has a valid CCW (concealed carry weapon) permit in the state of Ohio.” However, the charge against him is based on “a violation of a subsection of the state CCW,” Schoonover added. “He wasn’t arrested for having the gun, it was how he handled the situation.”

Last year was Washington’s rookie year with the Bills. He played college football at Ohio State, where he “was suspended from his final collegiate game” due to charges of soliciting a prostitute.

ABC 6 reported that Washington answered an ad on an escort website, then showed up at a hotel room:

Once in the hotel room, Washington told the officer he wanted a “short stay” at the hotel, authorities say. He was told that a short stay would cost $60. The documents state Washington took cash out of his pocket and said he had $100. He reportedly asked the officer if she had change. The officer said she did not have change; Washington responded: “Well, what will $100 get me?”

The undercover “officer agreed to oral sex for $100,” then “gave the arrest signal,” and Washington was apprehended.

Washington pleaded guilty to charges, which were later dropped.
