Rapper A$AP Rocky Arrested at LAX in Connection to November 2021 Shooting

Rapper A$AP Rocky — whose real name is Rakim Mayers — was arrested for assault with a deadly weapon on Wednesday morning at the Los Angeles International Airport (LAX) in connection to a November 2021 shooting. The news comes nearly three years after former President Donald Trump lobbied to free A$AP Rocky from a Swedish jail.

A$AP Rocky Fights Assault Charge in Swedish Court

HELSINKI (AP) — American rapper A$AP Rocky and two other men believed to be members of his entourage went on trial Tuesday in Sweden in a high-profile legal case that has caught the attention of U.S. President Donald Trump and celebrities.

Kamala Harris: Trump ‘Playing Politics’ By Trying to Free A$AP Rocky

California Sen. Kamala Harris (D-CA) spoke at the NAACP Convention’s presidential candidate forum Wednesday and accused President Donald Trump of “playing politics” by intervening for A$AP Rocky, the American rapper who was detained in Sweden earlier this month after his alleged involvement in a street fight.
