Nigeria Bans Cars to Prevent Boko Haram Attacks

The Nigerian government banned all forms of transportation, except ambulances and police cars, in Borno state from Wednesday evening to Friday to prevent any Boko Haram attacks during the Eid al-Adha. Borno’s capital Maiduguri also implemented a curfew.

A woman freed from ISIS-affiliated terror group Boko Haram told authorities the militants forced schoolgirls kidnapped from the town of Chibok, Borno, in April 2014 to fight for the radical Islamic group. Boko Haram Members Arrested in Lagos, Nigeria’s Largest City

Nigerians in northern Yobe state are decrying a Boko Haram attack that resulted in 160 people–including dozens of children–drowning as they fled the terrorist group. But the Nigerian military is calling the reports “unsubstantiated” and denying the attack occurred at all.
