The school districts of Dallas and Fort Worth are the latest in Texas to draft “sanctuary” policies, pledging to make their campuses safe spaces for migrant students and their families, even though federal law already protects them in public schools.

Texas Leads Legal Coalition Against Obama Transgender Bathroom Rules for Schools

Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton is fighting the Obama Administration’s executive dictate that Texas schools must let transgender students, or those who identify with the other sex on a given day, to use the bathroom of the opposite sex. Paxton went to court on Friday and led a 13-state coalition and argued for a preliminary injunction to stop the federal government overreach.

Transgender Issue Strikes Oregon Women’s Shelter

Oregon women seeking shelter from homelessness or abusive men are being forced to share sleeping and bathroom facilities with men who “self-identify” as a woman. State anti-discrimination laws in that state require these women’s shelters to take in men who “self-identify” as a woman, a sheltered woman reported.

School Superintendent Should Not Be ‘Social Engineer,’ Says Texas Lt. Gov.

Texas Lt. Gov. Dan Patrick spoke to media in Fort Worth Tuesday about parental rights, local control, the role of the school, and the job of the superintendent. On Monday Patrick called for the resignation of the Fort Worth Independent School District superintendent that unilaterally adopted transgender bathroom guidelines without public input.

Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton has fired off a letter to the president of Fort Worth Independent School District (ISD) saying he has a “strong concern” that the school district’s “Transgender Student Guidelines” violates parents rights to information.
