House Democrats joined with Planned Parenthood last week to introduce two measures that would ensure the abortion chain’s brand of sex ed — which focuses on contraception, abortion, and LGBTQ sex — receives federal funding.
Iowa Republican lawmakers passed a health and human services budget bill that blocks Planned Parenthood and other abortion providers from sex education funding.
A federal judge has sided with Planned Parenthood in his ruling that the Trump administration’s decision to end the abortion provider’s sex ed taxpayer-funded grant two years early is unlawful.
“Both public health organizations and the vast majority of parents agree and support LGBTQ-inclusive sex education,” the study states. “Eighty-five percent of parents surveyed supported discussion of sexual orientation as part of sex education in high school and 78 percent supported it in middle school.”
Evangelist Franklin Graham gave his support Monday to parents in cities across the United States and abroad who are pulling their children out of public schools to protest what they view as pornographic sex ed provided by taxpayer-funded groups such as Planned Parenthood.
Abby Johnson, a pro-life activist, author, and former director of a Planned Parenthood abortion clinic in Bryant, Texas, is calling on parents around the world to join the Sex Ed Sit Out on Monday.
“And there was such a cry from parents across the globe to help them push back against the graphic gender-bending sex ed in their schools that we just had to step out and keep the ball rolling.”
Planned Parenthood received several wins from the judiciary this week, including one in Indiana where a judge ruled the state’s law banning abortions for unborn children with disabilities is unconstitutional and another in Ohio where an injunction against a law redirecting taxpayer funds away from abortion vendors was upheld.
“We send our kids to school to learn reading and writing and science and history, not how to question whether they really are a boy or a girl,” Johnston told CBN News.
