The migrants announced they plan to enter the U.S. in massive numbers to declare asylum. Neilsen also addressed her warning to the organizers who may be coaching migrants on how to falsely make a “credible fear” claim.

Cartel violence in Tijuana continues with no end in sight as 11 killings were registered in a 24-hour period earlier this week. The deaths brought the number of homicides to 650 in 2018, according to government statistics as reported by local media. Authorities reported more than 100 homicides during the month of April.

Migrants from countries like Eritrea, Cameroon, and Mexico have flooded the U.S. southern border in San Diego to such an extent in recent days that U.S. border officials have been unable to process them without long lines forming on the Tijuana side of the border.

Hundreds of Central American nationals riding “The Train of Death” in Mexico are traveling to the U.S. border and plan to arrive in Tijuana on Sunday. These self-styled asylum-seekers plan to protest that illegal immigrants are being turned away at the border. The border crossing is scheduled for 2:30 PDT on Sunday afternoon.
