Monday on Fox News Channel’s “Fox & Friends,” former New York City Mayor Rudy Giuliani was asked about comments from presumptive Republican nominee Donald Trump regarding using the tactic profiling as a tool to protect against terrorism.
Giuliani argued profiling should be used as long as it wasn’t being used just because of someone’s race, religion, ethnicity or sexual orientation.
“Of course you profile,” Giuliani said “That’s what policing is all about. Here’s where it is wrong is when you do it based on race, religion, ethnicity, sexual orientation – just for that reason, just because you don’t like them. But if you do it based on hard facts that lead to the protection of the public like a group of one type.”
“I have no problem – of course we should profile based upon hard fact,” he added.
