While South Carolina voters would prefer that Governor Nikki Haley appoint comedian Stephen Colbert to the US Senate in place of retiring Senator Jim DeMint, their second favorite choice is former South Carolina First Lady Jenny Sanford. Sanford was married to disgraced former Governor Mark Sanford, who has said he could run for DeMint’s seat come 2014.

Jenny has a 44 percent approval rating; Mark has a 30 percent approval rating. They would presumably run against each other in the Republican Primary.
