Kristol: Stop Attacking Hillary on Benghazi

Weekly Standard editor Bill Kristol, who told Republicans in late 2012 to cave on higher taxes to President Obama, now thinks Republicans should stop attacking former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton for her role in American failures before, during, and after the September 11, 2012 Benghazi terror attacks. Appearing on Fox News Sunday on Sunday, Kristol said that ads against Hillary were “ridiculous.” He also said that conservatives should not attack the Obama administration over reports that the IRS has been targeting conservative groups for added scrutiny.

He said, “There’s no campaign going on. Let’s pull the partisanship back. It’s genuine outrage. There should be bipartisan committees investigating both from Congress. So I wish the Republicans would just be quiet for a while, the groups that are fund-raising, would be quiet on both issues for a while, and find out what really happened.”

Karl Rove’s American Crossroads has already cut and distributed an ad attacking Hillary Clinton for her failures on Benghazi.
