Former Navy SEAL Fires Automatic Weapon in Campaign Ad for MO Governor

Eric Grietens Ad

Republican Eric Greitens is a former Navy SEAL who is running for the office of Governor of Missouri.

He is running against Missouri Attorney General Chris Koster, whom the Washington Examiner describes as “a former Republican who switched parties and won the Democratic nomination.” On the other hand, Greitens is a former liberal who says military service and his involvement in a non-profit organization helped him see the errors of liberalism.

In his most recent campaign ad, Greitens spends nearly the entire commercial firing a fully automatic machine gun. As he does, a narrator says, “Eric Greitens is under attack from Obama’s Democrat machine. They’re trying to steal another Missouri election. But Eric Greitens is a conservative warrior and when he fights back he brings out the big guns.”

The narrator reminds viewers that Greitens pledges to “reduce spending,” “protect life,” “defend [the] 2nd Amendment,” and “fight Obama’s Democrat machine and their corrupt attacks.”

In his first television ad Greitens stressed that he is not “a career politician,” but a SEAL. Then he loaded an AR-15 and said, “I’ll take dead aim at politics as usual.”

Greitens won a Purple Heart and a Bronze Star during his service.
