VIDEO: Mexican Marines in Fierce Shootout with Cartel Gunmen

Mexican Marines in Shootout
Breitbart Texas/ Cartel Chronicles

Breitbart Texas traveled to the Mexican States of Tamaulipas and Coahuila to recruit citizen journalists willing to risk their lives and expose the cartels silencing their communities.  The writers would face certain death at the hands of the various cartels that operate in those areas including the Gulf Cartel and Los Zetas if a pseudonym were not used. Breitbart Texas’ Cartel Chronicles are published in both English and in their original Spanish. This article was written by Ciudad Victoria’s “M.A. Navarro.”

CIUDAD VICTORIA, Tamaulipas — The raging cartel battle in this state is often talked about but sometimes videos are able to speak louder than words or photographs. Breitbart Texas has obtained a leaked video that shows a squad of Mexican Marines during a high speed pursuit moments before getting into a firefight with cartel gunmen. The video has also been leaked to other online sources like Valor x Tamaulipas and Blog Del Narco.

Details of the video have not been released to protect the identity of the military troops who are not authorized to provide videos or photographs of their activities. However, sources consulted by Breitbart Texas confirm that the video is recent in nature and was taken in the border state of Tamaulipas.

The video appears to have been filmed by either a body camera, or a helmet camera worn by Mexican Marines during a high speed pursuit. The vehicle that the Marines are riding in appears to be second in formation as they continue to go after the gunmen.

As the pursuit continues, the Marines in the vehicle can be heard yelling excitedly at innocent passerby’s to move out of the way. Some expletives in Spanish are yelled out as the troops get closer to their enemies and they prepare to engage them in a firefight.

“Grenade Grenade Grenaaaade,” one of the Mexican Marines yells out. Another Marine responds, “Wait wait there are some civilians over there.”

Seconds later the two SUV’s screech to a halt and troops rush out of the vehicle while others seek cover amid a fierce gun battle. Automatic gunfire and semi-automatic gunfire is heard in the background as the Marine in the vehicle appears to stay inside the truck. While it is hard to see his actions, the gunfire continues to escalate before the video ends.

Sadly, these types of shooting situations have become an almost daily occurrence in Tamaulipas where Mexican drug cartels like Los Zetas and the Gulf Cartel continue to operate.
