CNN: Doctors in Africa Upset with Coverage Given to Americans

CNN International correspondent David McKenzie said that doctors treating Ebola in West Africa are frustrated with the amount of attention given to American doctors infected with the disease.

On Tuesday’s “AC360” on CNN, McKenzie reported “some of them [the doctors] have expressed displeasure with the amount of attention given to those doctors, not because they don’t want them to do well, but because they say that the real focus should be here in West Africa.”

He added that the doctors believe the real focus should be on West Africa because of the lack of risk that Ebola will spread in the United States, stating “they [the doctors] say this is where the real trouble is here and because of the protocols that are put in place in countries like the US, there is no real risk in America, but here, they have been health workers and doctors who have died in the dozens because they are trying to help patients.”
