Biden: Washington Looks Down on Unsophisticated American Middle Class

Tuesday while speaking about raising the minimum wage at the L.A. Baking Company, Vice President Joe Biden said the people in Washington D.C. are not giving him a compliment when he is referred to as “Middle Class Joe,” because they look down on the middle class an unsophisticated.

Biden said, “I’m referred to in Washington, nationally as “Middle Class Joe” in Washington that is not meant as a compliment. It means your not sophisticated in Washington, but Washington — it’s a different city.”
