Mika Brzezinski on Wendy Davis 'Wheelchair' Ad: 'Yikes, I Cringed Watching That'

On Monday’s broadcast of MSNBC’s “Morning Joe,” co-host Mika Brzezinski criticized a recent political advertisement for Texas Democratic gubernatorial hopeful Wendy Davis that labeled her opponent Greg Abbott a hypocrite.

Abbott, who is in a wheelchair, is attacked in the ad for having received a settlement for his accident, whereas the ad claims he wants to deny similar justice to others.

However, that was a step too far from Brzezinski.

“Everything from the production of it to the looming voice, to the issues,” Brzezinski said. “This is not what her brand is turning out to be. She should be appealing to women and she should be inspiring them and having a positive message, and — yikes, I cringed watching that.”
