Kurtz: Brown and Garner ‘So Very Different,’ Conflated to ‘Push an Agenda’

Howard Kurtz, Fox News Media Analyst and host of “MediaBuzz,” argued that certain liberal commentators were trying to conflate the Michael Brown and Eric Garner cases “in order to push an agenda” despite the fact that the two “are so very different” on Friday’s “Happening Now.”

He started by pointing out that there was a “stark difference” in the reactions to Garner and Ferguson, where the non-indictment in the Garner received almost universal condemnation while the Ferguson decision received a mixed reaction.

Kurtz then stated “I think what some of the more liberal commentators are doing is try to meld these two cases together in order push an agenda.” Kurtz argued that conflating the two “kind of glosses over the fact that these two cases are so very different.” He pointed out that there was video in the Garner case and that all the grand jury evidence was made public in Ferguson, but not in the Garner case.
