Clyburn: Closer to Impeachment Inquiry — But Not Ready ‘to Pull the Trigger’

House Majority Whip Rep. James Clyburn (D-SC) revealed he is getting closer to wanting to begin the impeachment inquiry for President Donald Trump.

Clyburn said Wednesday on CNN’s “New Day” that he is still not ready “to pull the trigger” on it just yet, however.

“Are you closer to wanting to begin the impeachment inquiry than you were a few weeks ago?” host John Berman asked.

“Yes, I am,” Clyburn replied. “But I’m not where I think we ought to pull the trigger on that.”

He continued, “The fact of the matter is all that we’ve seen in recent days — people refusing to testify, people tending to listen to this White House when they don’t have to, all these things bother me tremendously, but I do not want to rush to judgment on anything. I believe in going through the steps.”
