Morning Call Sheet: Rumored 'Dark Knight' Prologue, Leave Lindsay Alone, and 'Kumar' Mocks Jesus

SIX-MINUTE ‘ DARK KNIGHT RISES’ PROLOGUE ATTACHED TO NEW ‘MISSION: IMPOSSIBLE’?

Whoa. I’m there.

This might be the best idea Hollywood’s come up with since, well… since offering Christopher Nolan the Batman franchise to begin with.

And I dig the “Mission: Impossible” films, especially the third one.

GEORGE CARLIN ANSWERED 14 YEAR-OLD GIRL’S LETTER

Man, I miss George Carlin. About once year I have to watch all his HBO concerts over the course of a weekend. Politics shmolitics, the man was brilliant and hilarious.

LINDSAY LOHAN’S PROBATION REPORT’

This isn’t a criticism of The Wrap, who I’ve linked above. But in general, the sport much of the entertainment media (especially the bottom-feeding gossip media) has with the Lindsay Lohans of our world makes me a little ill.

This young lady is a mess and needs help and that help may well be jail time, but the jokes and pleasure others take in her train wreck of a life when there’s a real possibility of her ending up dead of an overdose in some cheap Sunset Boulevard motel room is an act of depraved indifference.

Like some idiot trying to dash across a busy freeway, Lohan is responsible for her own actions, but that doesn’t mean we have to take pleasure in the spectacle or egg her on.

RED BAND ‘HAROLD AND KUMAR 3’ TRAILER AS SACRILEGIOUS AS YOU’D EXPECT

It’s also funny in spots and definitely NSFW, unless you work at a really cool place like I do where your JOB is to watch this stuff.

LAST NIGHT’S SCREENING

From Paris With Love (2010) — Why this very entertaining follow-up from the director of “Taken” isn’t more appreciated is beyond me. It’s pro-American, the bad guys are Islamic terrorists, the pacing is superb, the action sound, and Travolta’s performance as a wild-eyed CIA agent delivers.

As far as the quality of storytelling, it’s no “Taken,” but it sure is a good time.
