James Franco Busted for Flirting with 17-Year-Old on Social Media

A grandmother from Scotland is furious with actor James Franco after she caught him attempting to seduce her 17-year-old granddaughter over social media.

Franco, 35, ran into the girl in New York after a Broadway show as seen in a selfie photo the girl took of the two on the streets of New York.

Soon after that meeting, Franco started texting and then messaging her on the social media platform Instagram in an attempt to hook up with her. But the girl, who is from Dollar in Clackmannanshire, a town in central Scotland northwest of Glasgow, is only a teenager and her family is furious with the actor.

After the failed seduction of young Lucy Clode, the teen’s 84-year-old grandmother slammed the actor for his attempt to get the 17-year-old into his hotel room. “I think he ought to get a slap on the wrist and I know my son, Lucy’s dad, wouldn’t be afraid to give it to him,” she said.

Grandma Sussex accused the actor of being “out of touch with reality.”

The texting and messaging exchange shows Franco attempting to convince the girl to come to his hotel. He also offered to rent a new hotel room where they could meet.

During the conversation, young Lucy asked Franco to prove it was him doing the texting and in return the actor sent several photos of himself, one holding a piece of paper upon which he wrote the girl’s name.

Eventually the actor found out just how old the girl was when she admitted her age and said that she’ll “come back when I’m 18.” Franco then insisted that she should text him when she comes back. Still, no hook up took place because the girl sensibly stopped the communications.

Nonetheless, despite that their teen turned out to be the smart one during the exchange, the messages were enough to infuriate girl’s family.

After the messages went viral, Franco admitted he felt foolish about the matter.

“I’m embarrassed and I guess I’m just a model of how social media is tricky,” he said.

“Unfortunately in my position, not only do I have to go through the embarrassing rituals of meeting someone, but if I do that, then it gets published for the world so it’s doubly embarrassing,” Franco said during an appearance on ABC’s LIVE With Kelly and Michael.

“I used bad judgment and I learned my lesson,” Franco insisted.
