American Military Jet Crashes In Lincolnshire, Pilot Safe

An American military jet, rumoured to be an F15 Eagle, has crashed in Lincolnshire in the English East Midlands. The plane was on a training mission when it crashed in a field after the pilot ejected.

The Grimsby Telegraph has reported the incident took place at around 3:40pm, and that it was an American plane. The crash site is Western Hills, Broadgate, near Spalding. The cause of the crash is unknown so far.

Lincolnshire is home to a large number of military air bases, the Royal Airforce favour the county because it is sparcely populated and relatively flat. The US Airforce does not have any bases in the county but does have two in nearby Cambridgshire.

The Royal Airforce do not use F15’s.
