Israeli Counter-terror Vet: Manchester Attack a Result of ‘Failed Immigration Policy’

Manchester stabbings: UK police raid house, quiz suspect

Israeli counter-terrorism and security veteran Aaron Cohen says attacks like the recent Manchester stabbing are a result of flawed immigration policies.

“What we have here is the epitome of a failed immigration policy,” the Israeli national security expert told Fox and Friends.

“I don’t know how else to put this other than the fact if you let a million non-conforming immigrants into your country and grant them citizenship and they’re so diametrically opposed to the way you live, to the values that you believe in… you’re going to have these pockets of sympathisers growing and spreading their tentacles like nomads across Europe,” Cohen warned.

“And that’s what I think we’re looking at, is a failed immigration policy.”

Three people, including a police officer, were stabbed at Manchester Victoria Station on New Year’s Eve, as part of what Cohen described as a “lone wolf epidemic”.

Greater Manchester Police are conducting a terror investigation into the suspect, who appeared to shout “Long live the caliphate! Allahu Akbar!” in footage of his detainment which was shared widely on social media, but are “retaining an open mind in relation to the motivation for this attack.”

He has been detained under the Mental Health Act.

Manchester experienced the most deadly of the wave of mass casualty radical Islamic terror attacks which struck the United Kingdom in 2017, when the son of an Islamist refugee from Libya detonated a suicide bomb at an Ariana Grande concert and killed or maiming a large number of victims, many of them young children.

However, most attacks across Europe have tended to fit the pattern Cohen describes, with jihadists operating alone or in small groups attacking civilians or military and security personnel with knives, hammers, and other easily obtainable everyday items, or targetting them in vehicles.
