Nov. 2 (UPI) — An Ohio man is splitting a $20,000 lottery prize with his grandmother just one day after he collected a $500 prize from another game.

The Jefferson County man, identified as Alan, told Ohio Lottery officials he and his grandma have been playing scratch-off lottery games together for years.

Alan said he was at the Toronto Gas & Go station recently when he selected a $!0 Holiday 50X the Money scratch-off ticket, a new Christmas game.

The player said he initially thought it was a $2,500 winner, but he took it back inside the store to double check and discovered it was a $20,000 prize.

Alan, who won $500 from a $30 Merry Money Match the previous day, said he will split his $20,000 prize with his grandmother.

Alan said his share of the money will go toward paying off some bills, while his grandma’s share will go toward spoiling her grandchildren.
