Administration: Dan Pfeiffer Leaving The White House In A ‘Position Of Strength’

Dan Pfeiffer, President Obama’s longest-serving staffer from the 2008 campaign, is leaving the White House.

“He’s a good man and a good friend, and I’m going to miss having him just down the hall from me,” said President Obama in a statement, reacting to the news that Pfeiffer would step down.

A senior White House official explained that part of the reason Pfeiffer was leaving was due to the “the position of strength” that the White House was in, pointing out that he was “now comfortable moving on.”

Pfeiffer took some unusual steps, such as releasing President Obama’s entire State of the Union address on Medium before it was delivered and trolling journalists on Twitter about Obama’s brown suit.

Reporters cited, among their memories, Pfeiffer’s abrasive demeanor and his tendency to send a “profanity-laced note” when he thought a story was unfair.
