Scarborough: GOP Only Wins with a Conservative Who Gets Swing Voters

Last week at the 2015 Conservative Political Action Conference, Breitbart News’ Matthew Boyle interviewed MSNBC’s “Morning Joe” host Joe Scarborough about the wide-open field of Republican candidates for president in 2016.

Proudly donning his “Breitbart orange,” Scarborough explained moderate Republicans don’t win in the general election, saying, “It happened with Bob Dole in ’96, it happened with John McCain in 2008, and in 2012 with Romney. You know, you can go back to ’76. It happened with Gerald Ford. Republicans win the White House when they have a conservative who can appeal to swing voters. Ronald Reagan did it, Richard Nixon did it before him, and George Bush did it.”
