A 19-year-old man was arrested in Chicago and charged with the accidental killing of an 11-year-old family member. Police say the suspect was handling a gun when it went off, striking the child.

Eurel Wilford, 19, was charged with the unlawful use of a weapon and a single count of involuntary manslaughter for the death of the 11-year-old family member identified as Antwone J. Price.

Chicago police reported that Wilford was playing around with a gun when it went off, striking Price in the stomach on the evening of Sept. 2. The boy was rushed to the hospital but died soon thereafter.

When he was arrested, Wilford was found with two guns, a semi-automatic and a revolver, both loaded. Police say he did not have a concealed carry permit or a state firearm owner’s ID card.
