No one knows for sure when Opening Day will come. However, whenever it comes, the Oakland A’s have their man for the job.
Justin Wilhite, is an A’s fan who recently announced on Twitter (while wearing an A’s hat) that he was suffering from coronavirus.
I have it. Don’t sleep on this thing people. I’m a very healthy type I diabetic. My body is fighting it very well but it’s kicking my ass. Don’t be a moron. Stay home! pic.twitter.com/X0Lb2FYE6z

That simple yet direct message, and the fact that he delivered it while wearing an A’s hat, caught the attention of Athletics President Dave Kaval. Not long after, Kaval extended an offer to Wilhite to throw out the first pitch on Opening Day.
Get well soon! The whole @Athletics nation is sending you positive thoughts. How is your arm? Would be honored to have you throw out the first pitch opening day! https://t.co/rpmC3v9mgz

The league does not expect to begin regular season play until mid-May at the earliest. Though, the most important thing is that Justin recovers and is ready to throw that pitch whenever the A’s ready for him to throw it.
