Jim Jordan (R-OH) show that the tech giant was well aware that the data behind the Biden White House’s “disinformation dozen,” which originated with a shadowy British “anti-hate” NGO, was false — yet the company bowed to the pressure anyway, censoring the targeted accounts.
New materials obtained by the House Judiciary Committee have shed further light on the Biden White House’s efforts to influence Facebook — even asking about algorithm changes to make its preferred media sources more visible to users.
Newly disclosed emails from within Facebook (now known as Meta) reveal that the Biden administration and its appointed officials exerted significant pressure on the tech giant. Mark Zuckerberg’s Facebook frequently bent the knee to the White House demands, such as one case in which emails state executives were “ready to tell the White House that it had demoted a video posted by Tucker Carlson by 50% in response to the White House’s demands, even though the post didn’t violate any policies.”
